to look for a western show horse. After inquiring at several barns they were a little discouraged. Well-trained western horses were very expensive, and not in their price range. They had one last person to talk to, Sharon’s trainer. Bob said, “Boy, do I have a deal for you!” The owner had just called him and told him to sell the horse “now”, and didn’t care what he sold him for. That horse was Doc Holliday. Doc was in a terrible horse trailer accident in June of 2003, and almost died. Don almost died from his chemo treatments in 2002. Their initials are both D. H. Don and Doc are now showing together, and are a testimony to God’s goodness and mercy. With God, all things are possible. |

My (Favorite) Horse Doc Holiday is his name. A seven year old half Arabian gelding that God blessed Don and Sharon Hunt with in October of 2003. Doc has had four years of professional training for western pleasure discipline. He has been shown and received numerous championships, regional top fives, and two national top ten awards. Sharon had shown in the Arabian show circuit until May of 2002 when Don was diagnosed with leukemia. Their lives were suddenly and totally changed. Sharon sold her Arabian show horse and turned her attention to Don’s illness, treatment and recovery. During this time, Don received Christ as his savior and, after two years of hospitals and chemo therapy, God has restored his health. At the Arabian Nationals last year, they decided |
